The Philippine National Police and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry have launched a foundation that aims to help provide for the education of the children of policemen who died or were incapacitated in the performance of their duties.
In a statement, the PNP said the Bayaning Pulis Foundation, Inc. is the PNP’s first foundation that aims to help the dependents of policemen finish their basic education, from elementary to college.
Present at the ceremony where the first batch of beneficiaries was also announced were Interior Assistant Secretary Manuel Felix, PNP Chief Camilo Cascolan, and others.
“This noble program will benefit the children and dependents of our police officers who did the ultimate sacrifice for the country and Filipino people,” Cascolan said, as he thanked the PCCI led by Benedicto Yujuico, who is also chair of the foundation.
Yujuico thanked the PNP for “your service that you have been doing for our nation.”
